  with the threat of removal of tax breaks hanging over their heads, watchtower has changed from ther bible-based position.

  i slept horribly last night because of stress.

  it's been a while since i had insomnia, but the meetings are slowly causing that disorder to make a comeback.

  the " bible " study was one of the most messed up things that i have heard in a long time.

  They read off the names of those auxilliary pioneering; 75% of them don't work &

  half of that 75% get disability and ssi checks.

  it was kinda funny sitting there listening to them go down the line, name by name, of the ones auxilliary pioneering since the numbers are dropped to 30 hours for march & april.

  as they were doing the names i was saying to myself, "she don't work", "she supposedly can't work", "he hasn't worked in years", "she gets a check", "she's probably gonna lie about the amount of hours she did" etc.. gotta love it.. i don't know if this happens in your congregation or not, but have you ever heard someone remark about someone else behind their back, "she can show up at every gathering, but she can't show up for field service!

  Aside from the conveniently disabled Dubs who receive benefits from the State, I know some Dubs who are just "attention whores"... they'll do anything for attention.... including aux pio-sneering (if it meant getting their names read from the platform)...

  I also know some slackers who suddenly aux pio-sneer a month before an expected major gathering (wedding reception, bethel tour, anniversary party. etc.) because they know that this significantly increases their chances of getting invited and finding a partner at these gatherings. After they meet their significant other, chances are they no longer sign up for pio-sneering for the rest of their lives...

  In the "Become Jehovah's Friend" video, Caleb's well-trained mother was quick to show him a Witch Tower artist's rendering of Adam & Eve in their frightening zombie-like old age... I'm sure most JW kids who have been shown that illustration after misbehaving have been traumatized to certain extents...

  The Witch Tower Writing dept has mastered the sick art of fear-mongering and they know no bounds...

  Who pioneered with the promise of having 'Jehovah provide' and ended up dirt poor anyway?

  i ask this because the wt always bangs on about if you trust in jehovah and make that leap into pioneering, you will always be provided for.

  at the time i joined the cult, a friend was continuous aux.

  Assembly Talks... Are these assigned based on the thickness of the envelope?

  from talking to several fading jws over the years, it really does appear that assembly talk assignments are usually given to those pos who consistently hand over the thickest envelopes to the co at the end of his week-long visits.

  if the envelope was too thin (or there was no enevelope at all), chances are that no one in that congo would get an assemby talk assighnment.

  also, if the co and his wife were treated well or taken to expensive restaurants during their visit, that apparently increased the po's chances of getting an assembly talk assignment.

  how jehovah got his name

  yahweh didn't get a name till moses come up with the "i am" thing.. not sure how it made it from i am to yahweh.

  and even crazier from yahwh to jehovah.. but anyway, my question is this: since god didn't have a name until "exodus" and if bible translaters say they are being accurate.... how come the name became retro-active and genesis gives god the name jehovah before he really has a name?.

  how can these translaters call this accurate?.

  Had it not been for Tyndale, the Dubs would be called Yawweh's Witnesses instead of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  It's no wonder why he's on the cover of this year's Memorial invitation.

  Anyone noticed a curiosity on the Memorial Invitation for 2013 ?

  i can't scan the memorial invitation for 2013, but i was looking at it today and noticed something curious on the front drawing.. we have jesus as the central figure of the composition.

  to his right and bottom, a large crown, in colour, of shiny happy people of diverse origins.. separated from this by the figure of jesus, is another group, a much smaller one, on the left and as if ascending to the top, and grayed.. clearly portrayed in this group is the face of ct russell and apparently william tyndale.

  but then, also sarah and abraham and other personalities of the ot seem to be represented there.
